Finally! The sun is here, and the kids are getting more and more time off from school. While there are still a few weeks of classes left, everyone benefits from a well-planned break from the regular flow of life. Below, we’ve come up with our favorite Spring, chore-free, activities for the whole family.
Hiking: While it might still be nippy out (bring a fleece), getting a good hike in is great for the mind and body. Finally, it’s nice enough to be outside, so ditch the gym for once and get some sun, even if it’s still hiding behind the clouds.
Photo Shoot: This can be as candid or as planned as you prefer, but there’s nothing better than getting a fresh batch of family photos. When it comes to clothes preparation, let us help!
Baking Day: Make some tasty pies or spring-themed cookies! You could even up your game and make homemade pizza or cheese bread!
Yard Clean Up: You’d be surprised how much the winter snow and rain can mess up your yard. Give each family member a garbage bag and see who can fill it up first! Look for trash and extra leaves and branches along the perimeter of your property.
Electronics Free Day: Maybe for a Saturday afternoon, have everyone in your family unplug. Read some books, play some games, pull out the guitar and have a family jam session, whatever you decide to do- just enjoy your time together.
Game Night: Order some pizza and pull out your favorite board games. You can even invite friends over too! If you’re really competitive, keep score and crown a winner at the end!
Volunteer Day: Whether you’re spending the day at the animal shelter, or cooking meals for the homeless, you’ll enjoy a day of giving back as a family. Additionally, you could go through your pantry and see if there are any canned or non-perishable foods that you could pass on to someone in more need.
Gardening Day: Even if you don’t have room for an in-ground garden, buy some pots and soil and get planting! You’ll enjoy watching everything bloom.
Movie Night: Going to the movie theater is always a blast! You can go as a family or make it a fun mother-son or father-daughter night!
House Repair Day: Even if you aren’t the handiest family, it’s a great time to try some DIY projects. Make your home your own!
What’s your favorite part of the season?
